History

TG Sowerby Developments was incorporated on August 6th 1980 by Glynn Sowerby, who ran the Company as Managing Director for over 34 years, from its foundation until his passing in December 2014.

Glynn Sowerby had established himself as a house-builder in the 1970s and founded the present company in 1980 to continue House Building, but also to move into other areas of Building Contracting, in particular works for the Local Authorities of the day.

In the 1980s, the firm undertook a number of small market housing developments, whilst simultaneously establishing and growing its contracting arm, quickly becoming a preferred contractor for Local Authorities and Housing Associations alike, as well as a number of prestigious private projects.

Since the 1990s, the firm has focused exclusively on contracting, though it never left its house builder roots behind and since 2010, the majority of its output has been housing developments for Housing Associations and Local Authorities.
