Lifetime Achievement Award

T.G. Sowerby Developments' Managing Director, Steve Sowerby, has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from North Lindsey College.

The Award, which was presented at North Lindsey College's 2017 Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony, was in recognition of T.G. Sowerby Developments' continued commitment for over 35 years to providing Apprenticeship Opportunities for the College's Construction Students, which has seen over 100 Apprentices train to become skilled tradesmen with the firm and which Steve has been a driving force behind for all the time he has been with the firm.

Steve Sowerby said, "I am ever so proud; proud to be nominated and proud that I won. This award is recognition of all the good work T.G. Sowerby Developments has done over the years encouraging young people into the Construction Industry and providing employment and training opportunities.

We currently have 5 Apprentices employed on a CITB Apprenticeship and training one day a week at North Lindsey College. In addition, George, one of our Plumbers, is currently studying towards his Gas Qualifications with North Lindsey College and Connor our Trainee QS and Ashley, a Trainee Site Manager, are studying towards their HNC in Construction and the Built Environment at the College.

Since Christmas, Jake, one of our Joiners, completed his Level 3 Apprenticeship and Johnny, one of our Bricklayers, completed his Level 2 Apprenticeship and James in the office is due to graduate from Sheffield Hallam in September with an MSc in Quantity Surveying, all of which we feel goes to show how serious we are about training."
