Oakfield View Development

A development made up of a mix of 20 Houses and Bungalows on the former site of a school in Scunthorpe.

Project: 20 Dwellings (6 Semi-Detached Bungalows, 3 Detached Bungalows, 3 Terraced Houses, 8 Semi-Detached Houses) On Former Sunway Infants School Site, Morecambe Avenue, Scunthorpe

Client: The Guinness Partnership

Site Manager: Steve Lyon

Completion: September 2014

The development was built on the former site of the Sunway Infants School, which was closed following the merger of the infant and junior schools and subsequently fell into disrepair. The school building was demolished and the site cleared to make way for this development, which is now known as 'Oakfield View'.

The dwellings are a mixture of detached and semi-detached bungalows and semi-detached and terraced houses, all of which have been built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.

Two of the bungalows were specially adapted in order to better facilitate wheelchair users, with wheelchair-friendly adaptations made to the kitchens and bathrooms.

We have received a great deal of positive comments and feedback from local residents and we appreciate their patience whilst this project has been ongoing.

Special thanks are given to Steve Lyon for all of the work he has put into this project.
